Back in 2016, I was promoted to Human Resources - and that’s when I discovered my true passion: hiring people. Over the past nine years, I’ve worked with thousands of individuals, helping both organizations and employees grow. I poured my heart and soul into the company I worked for, consistently proving that I could excel in any role entrusted to me. I genuinely loved my job. Colleagues often praised my strong work ethic, problem-solving abilities, and clear, effective communication. I’ve always believed that the true mission of Human Resources is to foster a culture of openness, honesty, and high performance while promoting a healthy work environment—both mentally and physically. Achieving that requires a solid work-life balance. But after years in a traditional 9-to-5 office setting, I realized what I truly craved: freedom. I had reached my career and financial goals. I was leading a global project across 10 offices and had the kind of role that could easily be done remotely. Yet, I was still expected to be physically present in the office for eight hours a day - even if I finished my work in six. What was I supposed to do with those extra two hours? Anything, apparently - play ping pong if I liked - but I wasn’t allowed to leave the building, as our door cards were monitored. Meanwhile, my boss came and went as he pleased. At the same time, we had just bought a house, and I wanted to invest my free time there - to build a home, not just a career. Eventually, it became clear that our values no longer aligned, and we parted ways - and honestly, I’ve never been happier. It felt like a weight had been lifted. For the first time in years, I could breathe. The light came back into my life. I started waking up excited for the day, not drained by it. I had the freedom to structure my time, focus on what truly matters, and reconnect with the parts of myself that had been buried under meetings, deadlines, and badge scans. My days are now filled with intention - time for my family, my garden, my home, my health, my creativity and hobbies. It was more than just a career shift—it was a life shift. And I wouldn't trade it for anything. Now, I work from anywhere I choose, on my own schedule, dedicating just 1–2 hours a day to my business.
